co-president of Build-A-Biz, a financial literacy nonprofit that runs workshops, camps, and programs for young people across the Naperville area. we've reached 1,300+ kids through partnerships with North Central College, the YMCA, and Junior Achievement.
what build-a-biz does
Build-A-Biz runs financial literacy programs designed for middle and high school students. through interactive workshops, business simulation games, and entrepreneurship exercises, we teach kids how money actually works — savings, investing, credit, starting a business, why businesses fail — in a way that's engaging rather than didactic. the goal is economic intuition, not just financial facts.
partnerships
partnering with North Central College, the YMCA, and Junior Achievement has allowed us to operate on college campuses, reach underserved youth through the YMCA network, and align our curriculum with JA's nationally recognized framework. these partnerships extend our reach far beyond what a standalone nonprofit our size could achieve.
my role
overseeing curriculum design and updates to the educational website. directing youth-focused programs and camps at community centers. building and maintaining organizational partnerships. co-leading with a focus on programmatic quality and reach — making sure what we teach is actually worth teaching and actually lands.
