what the commission does
the Riverwalk Commission manages approximately $3M per year in spending on capital projects, maintenance, landscaping, event programming, and ADA compliance initiatives. commissioners review project proposals, assess bids, and advise the city council on prioritization. it's real governance over a real public asset, with decisions that affect how millions of people experience the city.
my role
advocating for data-driven approaches to visitor flow management, accessibility improvements, and sustainability. representing the perspective of younger Naperville residents — a constituency not historically present in commission deliberations. bringing an analytical lens to budget discussions and project evaluation.
